Bahrain : Traffic floats tender to use blockchain technology for vehicle registrations

The General Directorate of Traffic on Tuesday floated a tender for companies to implement the blockchain technology to register vehicles. It urged companies to submit their bids before May-end.
The tender was announced on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Bahrain. Interested companies can obtain more details about the tender on the Tender Board website www.tenderboard.gov.bh
Director-General of Traffic Col. Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa said the new registration project would reduce the cost, protect the primary data of vehicles, improve the efficiency of information management and achieve a higher level of transparency in registering vehicles.
He said the blockchain project was part of the government resolve to offer high-quality services and use global technology to regulate the registration of vehicles. The project is part of the plans to benefit from the latest technology in improving services and reinforce the role of the private sector.
