This is achieved by adopting the latest technologies and solutions within the management and development programmes. This project supports the Smart Dubai initiative, to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world. It also supports the objectives of the Dubai Plan 2021 for a pioneering and excellent government that is sustainable and innovative in the management of its resources,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“DEWA’s is committed to its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility. The new phase underlines DEWA’s efforts to streamline and improve organisational mechanisms, and use the latest technologies and solutions in its different operations to establish an excellent service model on par with international best practices,” added Al Tayer.

“In the past three years, Kawader 1 helped us to achieve our goals in developing DEWA’s projects and operations, and maintain our competitiveness in the government sector. Kawader 2 will be an ideal tool to implement staff-development solutions and support our Emiratisation efforts by attracting the best talent and developing them to meet work requirements at DEWA. It will also support existing staff development programmes and automate the performance development system to keep up with advances in the job market and serve DEWA’s overall organisational objectives and retain the best talent,” said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.

DEWA launched the first phase of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programme in October 2009. It covered invoicing and customer relations management. The second phase of the programme, which was launched in early 2012, was implemented on 4 main projects. These are: BARQ for new connections and technical complaints, MAWAD for procurement and stores, DARAHIM for finance & accounts, and the first phase of the KAWADER for human resources functions. The second phase of KAWADER, which is being implemented, adds to DEWA’s success in implementing the programme.
