Burkina Faso : US$11 million EU support for BURKINA FASO's electoral process

The European Union (EU) has decided to provide 7 billion CFA Francs (about US$11 million) supporting Burkina Faso’s electoral process.
Major part of the amount is to be disbursed during the transition period, said Burkina Faso’s government spokesman Frederic Nikiema.
Additionally, EU will even give a loan of US$109 million to Burkina Faso as budgetary support for the 2015-2016 financial year, he added. The World Bank had given Burkina Faso budgetary support of $101 million, supporting country's efforts to fight against poverty and unemployment.
Presently, Burkina Faso is going through a transition period after the fall of Blaise Compaore’s regime in October last year. In October, the country will hold its general elections.
