Solar EPC publishes list of tenders to raise Solar Power Capacity

The first of a very long list of tenders is finally being issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India to raise the country’s solar power capacity.
A 2 GW tender for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services is being supplied by the New Delhi-based government body.
The objective of the tenders is to boost large-scale utility solar PV power projects throughout various states in the country.
For establishing, ultra mega solar power projects, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has inked deals with the governments of several states.
The deals with 7 state governments representing 9.85 GW solar PV have so far been inked by the SECI. The biggest among these deals is with Rajasthan, where the SECI would manage development of 2.7 GW worth of solar power capacity in partnership with state government agencies.
India is projecting to contribute about 97 GW of solar power capacity by 2022, comprising 20 GW capacity via ultra mega solar power projects with each project having a capacity of as much as 4 GW.
