Australia : Proposals recieved for Law Courts project

Publish Date : 03-Jun-2015

The two short-listed groups in the Territory’s first Private Public Partnership procurement process have submitted their bids to design, construct and maintain the ACT Law Courts project.

Attorney-General Simon Corbell said the submission of bids from consortia Capital Courts and Juris Partnership follows a six month interactive tender process.

“The receipt of these bids today represents a major step forward in delivering court facilities that will meet the Territory’s needs for the next 50 years,” Mr Corbell said.

“Since the two short-listed groups were announced the judiciary and key stakeholders have been able to provide feedback to the bidders during the development of their solutions for the project.

“The interactive tender process has been a very positive experience, and I am confident that this will have assisted in ensuring that the winning consortium for this important project will produce an outstanding facility for the Courts and the Territory,” Mr Corbell said.

An evaluation process will now commence with an announcement expected to be made on a preferred partner in September. That partner will be engaged to design and construct the courts and thereafter provide maintenance and support services for a 25 year period.

Construction of the new facilities is due to commence in early 2016 to be completed in early 2018.

The two consortia are:
CAPITAL COURTS – including: Richard Crookes Constructions, Brookfield Johnson Controls, Amber Infrastructure and Bates Smart Architects with Katsieris Origami Architecture.

JURIS PARTNERSHIP – including: Laing O'Rourke Construction, Programmed Facility Management, Macquarie Capital Group and Lyons Architecture.
