Germany : DEUTSCHE TELEKOM requests EUR 600 mln EIB loan for Broadband Services

The European Investment Bank (EIB) said that Deutsche Telekom has looked for EIB funding for a capital endowment venture to extend rapid broadband.

The undertaking concerns the second stage of the take off of a broadband access system at up to 100 Mbps in Germany, through expanded fiber scope consolidated with more propelled copper access innovation.

The goal is to expand the accessibility of quick connections for around 10 million family units by 2016, representing to a family scope increment from 45% to 65% in Germany.
