ICT supplier Specialist Computer Centres has secured a multi-million pound contract for offering ICT infrastructure services to Oxford City Council. Earlier during this year, the council launched a tender which gave it the flexibility to appoint a single supplier or different suppliers for seven separate lots.
SCC will be appointed for the entire range of services in a 10 year deal to begin in April 2016. According to the council, The council currently has all its ICT infrastructure provided by Oxfordshire County Council under a partnership agreement which will come to an end on 31 March 2016.
The successful organisations will therefore be required to be able to manage the transition of the service.
Mainly, the contract includes data centre hosting, server and storage capacity, server technical support, database administration, network security infrastructure and support, ICT service management and IT service desk operations. Through this contract, partner councils including the county council, will be able to enter into a contract with SCC to provide the defined services.
