Peru : PERU announces international tender for biometric passports

Perus immigration body has announced an international tender for firms interested in supplying the country with biometric ePassports.
On 31 August, the National Superintendency of Migration announced the tender, with National Superintendent Boris Potozen indicating that the high-technology passport will be progressively implemented from December 2015.
The earlier documents are also valid and will be accepted, as long as they have not been renewed. The biometric passport shall be requested starting from the sixth year.
The project has received support from International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, and the state will be investing around US$42 million on its implementation.
