Tanzania : TPA announces tender for range of consultancy services and engineering designs

The tenders for a range of consultancy services and engineering designs has been published by the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), which are to support the improvement of several ports.
It covers a request for stake in consultancy services for feasibility studies and preliminary engineering designs for improvement of new ports at Kilwa, Lindi and Rushungi, plus a transhipment hub along the coast of the Indian Ocean.
The other notice is also seeking to pull in consultancy services and engineering designs for the building of four berths at Mtwara Port. In the fiscal year 2015/16, TPA has reserved funds for the cost of studies geared towards development of new ports.
"The objective of this assignment is to undertake the study that determines economic, financial and technical viability of developing new ports at Kilwa, Lindi and Rushungi," TPA said in one of several notices.
"The consultancy services shall also include identification of a suitable location for development and preliminary engineering designs for transshipment hub along the coast of the Indian Ocean."
The bidder who would win, required to offer'detailed assessment of economic, financial, technical and environmental aspects' of the future developments whilst meeting the TPA's cost and timescale demands.
