Bulgaria : BULGARIA announces tender for oil/gas exploration in Varna Region

Bulgaria has announced a tender for prospecting for oil and gas in Block 1-24 Kitka in Varna Region.
This tender forms part of the governments move to reduce Bulgarias dependence on Russian gas imports by increasing domestic production.
Location of Block 1-24 Kitka is in northeastern Bulgaria, spread over 704 square kilometers in the southwestern part of Varna Region.
The government said that the exploration permit will be granted for a period of five years, with a further option of two extensions of two years each.
Potential bidders can buy tender documents within 120 days after the publication of the announcement in the Official Journal of theEuropean Union.
Ranking of the candidates will be done as per their work plans, investment in environment protection, training programmes along with managerial and financial capabilities.
