Burkina Faso : IDB allocated CFA 20 billion for building Dedougou-Tugan highway in BURKINA FASO

The ministry of Infrastructure said, Burkina Faso will start the construction and asphalting of the Dedougou-Tugan highway in the west-central part of the nation following CFA 20 billion was gained from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for that reason.

The Tunisia-located construction firm, SOROUBAT, was contracted to construct the road at the end of a global tender inviting bidders for the project.

The Dedougou-Tugan highway will expense around FA 23.6 billion.

If finished, the 91km-road, might increase economic development services linking Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Mali.

The development of this portion of the road will augment trade interactions between the regions of Burkina Fasos western regions and those of the north particularly areas with a high potential for mining, fruit agriculture and pastoral activities.

Other than from the highway, a bridge will likewise be constructed over the Mouhoun River and development works done for the laying of an optical fiber.
