Croatia : HZ Infrastruktura and a consortium of DIV, Dalekovod and Zagreb Montaza signs double-tracking contract in CROATIA

Publish Date : 03-May-2016

On April 29, HZ Infrastruktura and a consortium of DIV, Dalekovod and Zagreb Montaza signed a contract to modernise and double-track the 382 km Dugo Selo Krizevci section of the route from Zagreb to the border with Hungary.

Out of the total cost of the project, the EU will be covering 85%, which includes double-tracking, six new and seven rebuilt bridges, and the replacement of 17 road and two pedestrian crossings with 11 road overbridges, one road underbridge and six pedestrian subways.

Modernization work also covers substations and signalling equipment.

Completion is expected by late 2019, helping to reduce the journey time for non-stop passenger services from 30 min to 18 min.

The consortiums bid of 165m had come in significantly lower than the 202m estimated by the infrastructure manager. Earlier in October, the consortium emerged as preferred bidder, but formal award of the contract was delayed by appeals which were finally rejected on April 8.
