Israel : State mulls to release new tender for Jerusalem light rail

A financial row between the State and the Jerusalem light rail franchisee CityPass and work contractor Alstom over EUR 45 million has delayed the extension of the current line and work on the new line.
A 45 million euro gap exists between Alstom and CityPass's bid for the Red Line extension and what the government of Israel is willing to pay.
The parties have been in talks for over year on the cost of the work and have failed to reach agreement.
The State has called the contractors estimate as 'excessive' and is mulling to issue a new tender, while the contractors insist that the State has incorrectly priced the project.
