Malaysia : SapuraKencana wins US$125m contracts

SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd (SKP)'s wholly owned subsidiaries have won new contract awards and extensions carrying a combined value of aprpox. US$125 million (around RM513 million).
SKP has informed Bursa Malaysia that SapuraKencana Drilling Tioman Sdn Bhd (SKD Tioman) has received one new contract, while SapuraKencana HL Sdn Bhd (SKHL) has secured three; SapuraKencana Australia Pty Ltd (SKA) has also won two other contracts.
In the mean time, another arm SapuraKencana Drilling Jaya Ltd (SKD Jaya) has extended one of its current contract.
SKD Tioman was offered a contract by JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (M) Ltd to provide Semi-submersible Tender Assist Drilling Rig "SKD Berani", for JX Nippon's development drilling campaign offshore Malaysia for at least 150 days.
The contract includes three firm wells, with an option of a further two, and is expected to start by July 2016.
The three contracts that SKHL won included a contract from BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn Bhd, one from Seles ES Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and one from SapuraKencana's other own subsidiary, SapuraKencana Energy Sarawak Inc (SKE Sarawak).
The first job that SKA received is from Woodside Energy Julimar Pty Ltd for phases of the Balnaves Decommissioning project for the Balnaves field, which is sited offshore North-West Australia.
The second contract that SKA secured was a light well intervention contract on a call-off basis from Shell Australia. The contract is for a period of 5 years.
