Publish Date : 01-Jul-2016

IBM has made an announcement on its strategic move to establish the IBM National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) in Canberra in a bid to promote better collaborative relation with the Government and businesses in support of the new national Cyber Security Strategy of Australia.

IBM has signed up the ex-Head of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre Kevin Zuccato to steer the NCSC, and guide a squad of cyber security experts.

The Government of Australia had made an announcement on an ambitious Cyber Security Strategy in April 2016.

The Governments strategy comprehends the value of collaborative ties with the private sector to promote information exchanges and best practices.

IBM has disclosed that the companys new NCSC falls straight in line with this plan of the Australian Government, and will look for supporting the Government and business entities in Australia, as they develop their capabilities in the cyber security space.

The planned Centre will facilitate access to the security technology and expertise of IBM, comprising the threat-sharing platform IBM X-Force Exchange, field squads of security professionals and collaboration with the IBM Australian Security Development Lab on the Gold Coast.
