Telecom Italia (TIM) has won a contract worth around EUR 500 million along with Hewlett Packard unit HPE Services Italia.
This contract is to supply cloud computing services to Italy's public administration.
Italy's state procurement agency Consip awarded this contract as part of the country's new national EUR 2.4 billion network connecting public services.
According to Telecom Italia, the framework contract will run for around 5 years, allowing the public administration to access a wide range of cloud services supplied through the TIM and HPE data centres throughout Italy.
The contract includes the supply of cloud computing services in three areas Infrastructure, Platform and Software all to be provided remotely as a service.
The temporary consortium awarded the contract also features Poste Italiane, Postel and Postecom.
