India : Power Ministry launches e-Trans bidding platform; new mobile app

Through reverse electronic auction on build-operate-own basis for 35 years, the government will seek bids for interstate power transmission projects from private and public companies.
The ministry of power and state-run auctioneer MSTC have launched a bidding platform e-Trans to shift from the current manual auction process to decide the lowest bidder for the projects.
The ministry also released a new mobile app to monitor implementation of the under construction power transmission projects.
The app will also provide information on delayed transmission projects and issues that halt them.
The DEEP portal to allow states select power vendors was extended from short- term to Medium term power procurement.
