United Kingdom : Cubico Sustainable Investments buys BSR's 50 MW Owls Hatch solar PV park

Renewable power and water investment firm Cubico Sustainable Investments has bought the 50 MW Owls Hatch solar photovoltaic (PV) park sited in Southern England from British Solar Renewables (BSR), a developer and operator of solar parks based in Butleigh, UK.

BSR will be involved in all the solar parks that Cubico acquires.

With this deal, Cubico has now bought 11 PV projects from BSR over the last 8 months, totaling 120 MW.

Sited in Herne Bay Kent, England, Owls Hatch, which started operating in March 2015, was initially developed by BSR as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor.

BSR will continue to be the operations and maintenance provider and will continue to be involved in all the solar parks that Cubico acquires.

Proceeds of the sale to will used for more solar development as well power storage projects.

David Swindin, Head of EMEA at Cubico, said, "We are delighted to have worked with BSR again and to add one of the largest solar farms in the UK to our growing portfolio."

Commercial Director at BSR, David Peill, added: "We are very pleased to have completed this significant transaction with Cubico. The proceeds of the sale allow us to recycle capital into further solar development as well as our growing energy storage pipeline."
