Oman : AER announces technical advisory tender for Sahim 2 rooftop PV initiative

The Authority for Electricity Regulation (AER) has announced a request for proposal tender for appointment of an experienced technical advisor to provide input to the authoritys planning, execution and technical/financial modelling of Sahim 2 rooftop PV initiative.
AER has identified areas of expertise expected from well qualified technical advisors to provide services and advice for renewable energy projects and specifically privately funded domestic PV rooftop schemes.
According to Eng Hilal al Ghaithi, manager of Sahim Renewable Energy Initiative, one of the objective of Sahim 2 is to drive the wide-scale deployment of small PV systems at residential premises in Oman.
The manager said, The technical advisor will be responsible for supporting each project phase by providing recommendations on residential rooftop PV technologies, components and manufacturers compatible with the outline designs and models of expected output, performance characteristics and costs of outline design PV systems.
Started in 2017, the Sahim initiative aims at promoting eco-friendly lifestyles, along with creating a greener future for generations by the deployment of small-scale grid connected PV installations.
