Jordan is a small Arab country with insufficient supplies of water, oil, and other natural resources. Jordan heavily depends upon petroleum exports and international aid. Major exports of the country are phosphates, fertilizers, potash, agricultural products, manufactures. Major imports of the country are crude oil, machinery, transport equipment, food, live animals, and manufactured goods. The main challenges facing Jordan are reducing dependence on foreign grants, reducing the budget deficit, attracting investments, and creating jobs.
