The Indian subsidiary of BAE Systems has submitted various proposals to the government of India recommending amendments to existing policies covering defence offset guidelines, exports, and defence procurement.

Main objective of the proposals is to enhance the ease of carrying out defence business in India and are said to be in response to a government review of defence trade policies taken up by an inter-ministerial committee formed in early December, under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).

This committee is responsible for fast-tracking investment proposals from US industry and also to identify concerns and "bottlenecks" faced by US investors.
