United Kingdom : PLACES FOR PEOPLE channels all of its external procurement services through one central point

Publish Date : 23-Mar-2015

Channelling its entire external procurement services through a single central point, Places for People has announced the formal launch of the Procurement Hub, its latest new offering. This free to join hub integrates Places for People's established procurement frameworks for green services, key projects, utilities and expert services.

The public sector 'buying club' already counts more than 60 members, who have profited from access to various goods, services and support over the last 5 years. The new hub combines Places for People's wide-ranging procurement expertise, gained from 50 years of supply chain activity in the housing and construction industries.

The hub is designed to improve the proven service presently afforded to every framework's customer, providing compliantly procured contracts to several public bodies. Customers within the hub will also have access to various additional services including consultancy, advice on legal matters, and access to new streams of funding.

Former Procurement Director at Places for People, Katy Mills, who will now serve as Managing Director of Procurement Hub, said : "This is an extremely exciting moment to be launching our Procurement Hub, especially in the wake of last month’s updates to Public Contracts Regulations. It feels like a natural progression for Places for People to add the Procurement Hub to its growing range of services, simplifying the process for its customers and reducing the timescales involved. Now is the time to offer our expertise in group buying initiatives, to help public sector organisations achieve better value and greater security on their large scale investments."
