United States : PennDOT offers tender for Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation Project

Publish Date : 15-Sep-2015

For the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation Project, PennDOT opened bids for the first deal.

Tenders were available for the 4,500 foot-long river bridge, which would span the west branch of the Susquehanna River. The bridge is part of the project's northern section that would associate Route 147 south of Montandon in Northumberland County to US 15 south of Winfield in Union County.

Trumbull Corporation of Pittsburgh had delivered the unofficial low bid of $155.6 million. It was one of seven bids submitted by private firms in the competitive bidding process.

In November, the work is expected to commence, with completion of the bridge in 2020. The deal covers construction of the bridge, embankment and drainage work, and developments to Route 147 and local roads.

PennDOT would review the bids and expects awarding a deal within a few weeks. The earthwork and remaining bridges for the remainder of the northern section of CSVT has been projected to be let in the fall of 2016, with the paving deal following in 2018.
