India : SPIPA to spend Rs 140cr to improve its infrastructure further

The Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA), the most prominent government-run training institute in Gujarat, has announced its investment strategy worth Rs 140 crore for the modernization of the existing infrastructure facilities of the organization.

The SPIPA Director General Vipul Mittra revealed, The state government has given administrative sanction to build new buildings at the SPIPA main campus in Ahmedabad and also to upgrade our regional centers at Vadodara, Mehsana and Rajkot. We have an ambitious target to implement all our plans in a years time. The newly received money will be directed towards refurbishment of the main campus of the prestigious institution of the State.

The makeover proposal also includes development of new boarding houses for both boys and girls as well as establishment of a new VIP hostel block inside the SPIPA campus. Plans to renovate the Rajkot-based SPIPAs regional training center are also on the cards.
In addition to these works, SPIPAs regional training centers at Mehsana and Vadodara will also get new building blocks.

The Gujarat Government has already delivered administrative clearance for funds of Rs 122 crore out of the overall expenses for the project. SPIPA is also working now to establish a District Training Centre in every district of the State and provide distance learning in order to connect these facilities with the main campus of the entity.

In a bid to facilitate Government functionaries with training facilities covering a range of fields including public administration, rural development, local self government, as well as disaster management and associated areas, SPIPA was created in the year 1962 as an institution. It also provides training to the local youngsters to help them become successful in competitive examinations such as the UPSC.
