TENDER NOTICE for Engaging an organization to carry out Participatory video training under the projecton Wetlands management for biodiversity and climate protection
Under the Indo German Bilateral Development Cooperation, the focal areas currently are:
Environment and Management of Natural Resources; and
Sustainable Urban Development
The MoEFCC, in partnership with the GIZ, is implementing a Technical Cooperation project Wetlands management for biodiversity and climate protection with funding support from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) under the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The goal of the project is to strengthen the institutional framework and capacities for an ecosystem-based integrated management of wetlands of international importance (Ramsar sites) in India. The project is being implemented in close cooperation with the National Plan for Conservation of Aquatic Ecosystems (NPCA) of the MoEFCC with an overall objective to establish an integrated management approach at four Ramsar sites (namely, Pong, Renuka, Bhitarkanika and Point Calimere). Implementation is being undertaken in partnership with the respective State Wetland Authorities and site-level management institutions.
The project is seeking services of an expert agency to provide training on participatory video at the project Ramsar sites including Renuka Lake, Pong Dam Reservoir, Bhitarkanika mangroves and Point Calimere Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary.
The assignment will select and train members of local communities, NGO and frontline staff at four project sites, to have the ability to script, shoot, edit and produce videos for documentation and to support community-level communication through participatory videos. The assignment should emphasize on four major thematic areas and project activities, which are -i)ecosystem services provided by the wetland and perception of local communities about the wetland; ii) green recovery measures including training on alternative livelihoods, focusing on remote monitoring; iii) sustainable and best livelihood practices; and iv) specific elements of high significance in terms of biodiversity, livelihoods, or cultural value in each project site. The assignment should be gender and age sensitive, ensuring participation of women and youth.
