Ukraine : Winner announced for the development of a new runway project at Dnepropetrovsk International Airport

The tender committee of SE Financing of Infrastructure Projects announced the winner for development of project documentation and carrying out of its expertise in the framework of construction of the new runway at Dnepropetrovsk International Airport. The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladislav Krykliy has informed about it.
The issue of modernization of the Dnepropetrovsk airport is a topical issue for the millionaire city of Dnipro, a densely populated area and a huge surrounding conglomeration. We need to open the sky above the Dnieper. UAH 1.2 billion has already been provided for the design and construction of the Dnepropetrovsk International Airport. The upgraded airport should become a regional hub and provide a convenient aviation connection. The winner of the design of the new runway of the International Airport "Dnepropetrovsk" is finally announced. The new "flight" must be reliable, durable and safe, capable of receiving modern passenger aircraft ", said Vladislav Krykliy.
The estimated value of the purchase was 26 million 514 thousand VAT. The tender was attended by 4 participants. The offers of the first two bidders were rejected by the customer on the basis of non-compliance of the submitted documents with the conditions of purchase.
The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine announced that the winner was recognized by INSTITUT UKRDORPROEKT LLC, which offered UAH 1 979 thousand less than the expected value of the purchase and the tender offer which meets the technical requirements set out in the tender documentation and qualification criteria for the established procurement requirements.
The head of the Ministry noted that the winning company confirmed the availability of relevant experience and qualified contractors who can ensure the development of a complex technical project qualitatively, in accordance with the terms of reference for the design. The contract will be signed within the period specified by the Law of Ukraine "On Public Procurement".
It should be reminded that the previous two tenders for the development of the project for the construction of the airport of the International Airport "Dnepropetrovsk" did not take place due to poor quality and not fully prepared tender bidders, which did not allow the customer of the development project to determine the winner.
The development of regional airports is a priority of the state policy of the Ministry of Infrastructure in the aviation industry. In our immediate plans the modernization of the airport in Izmail and the preparation of a project for the construction of the airport in Mukachevo. People in the regions need to get convenient and affordable air services both internationally and domestically, said Vladislav Kricli.
