The state of Baden-Wrttemberg is once again making around 280,000 euros available for a total of five projects for new communication formats and the construction and expansion of multi-generation houses. The projects funded are in Bad Drrheim, Niedereschach, Pforzheim and Ravensburg.

Against the background of an aging society, new forms of living and cross-generational exchange are becoming increasingly important. The state of Baden-Wrttemberg is therefore once again making around 280,000 euros available for a total of five projects for new communication formats and the construction and expansion of multi-generation houses. This was announced by Social and Integration Minister Manne Lucha in Stuttgart. The projects funded are in Bad Drrheim, Niedereschach, Pforzheim and Ravensburg.

Places of social cohesion
Multi-generation houses are valuable meeting places and are open to everyone - regardless of age or origin. They not only offer a place to live, but are also creative impulses when it comes to how young and old live well and together. This gives rise to new ideas and practical offers of help and support in everyday life. Multi-generation houses are therefore places of social cohesion, said Minister Lucha.

The promotion of the houses is part of the impulse program for social cohesion , which was decided by the state government of Baden-Wrttemberg in March last year. The impulse program with a volume of 20 million euros implements concrete projects from eight subject areas, which strengthen the coexistence in the country through courageous and unconventional approaches.

Promotion of multi-generation houses in the country
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration will have a total of around two million euros available for the construction and expansion of multi-generation houses between 2019 and 2021. In December 2019, a total of 800,000 euros flowed to 22 corresponding institutions in a first funding round.

The state is supported in the implementation by the state working group of multi-generation houses . The association is an association of Baden-Wrttemberg multi-generation houses from the federal program of the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth.
