Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Transportation, through the co-financing agreement with the municipality of Armenia, the Puerto Espejo Road Terminal project has already received four proposals from interested parties for its construction. This work is part of the infrastructure development of the Strategic Public Transport System (SETP) of Armenia.
The coordinator of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Unit (UMUS) of the Ministry of Transportation, Sandra ngel, said that this project is vital for Armenia because it is part of the priority elements of the action plan that the municipality advances for the entry into definitive operation of the SETP, with which the efficient provision of passengers is sought under conditions of sustainability, quality and coverage . The terminal will house 10 buses of routes 4 and 36 of the system during low demand hours. Similarly, with this project drivers, users and more than 57,000 inhabitants of the Commune 2 of Armenia will benefit from safe and comfortable spaces to get on and off the buses, where there will also be rest areas for drivers and space areas public.
The accompaniment of the Ministry of Transport has been very important for us as a managing entity and for the bidding processes of the projects that are part of the Strategic System of Public Transport of Armenia. With the constant support of the National Government we have generated confidence in the citizens who wish to have an organized public transport , affirmed the Manager of the Strategic System of Friendly Public Transport Armenia, Jess Antonio Nio Snchez.
Among the bidders who submitted the proposals are: 2020 works consortium , which is made up of the companies Construsocial SAS and Construagro SAS; the Puerto Espejo Consortium formed by Luis Daniel Lozano Bustillo, Edwin Oswaldo Leguizamon Ochica and Incores Civiles SAS; Puerto Espejo Terminal Consortium , of which Colinvias SAS and CT Ingenieria are part and finally the other interested party is the Amable 2020 Consortium , co-signed by IMECON SAS Machinery and Construction Machinery Engineering, Galabe Comercializadora SAS and Carlos Giovanny Uribe Montoya.
The Puerto Espejo Road Terminal project will be executed for 4 months and will be built in an area of 3,857.2 m 2 ; Its design is consistent with the needs and modeling of the system's routes, depending on the volumes, the way of arrival and the demand patterns of the users.
Strategic Public Transport System (SETP) of Armenia
The Armenian Public Transport Strategic System is part of the National Government's strategy to improve the provision of public transport service, competitiveness, efficiency and regional sustainability. In total, this system has an investment of $ 254,000 million, of which the Nation contributes 70%. To date, 27.6 km of roads, 22.9 km of platforms and 5 bus stops with public spaces have been built and rehabilitated. This system plans to mobilize 100% of the users of the urban territory of the municipality.
