The contract aims at the complete remodeling of the Atocha Telecommunications Center and the redistribution of the existing telecommunications facilities to meet the current and future needs of the railway operation.
Adif has tendered the contract for the execution works of the reform and adaptation works of the telecommunications facilities of the Atocha Telecommunications Center building (CTA), for an amount of 5,127,108.12 euros (VAT included) and a term 24-month execution.
The purpose of this contract is the comprehensive remodeling of the CTA and the redistribution of the existing telecommunications facilities to respond to the current and future needs of the railway operation, as well as to the specific demands for commercial telecommunications and railway operators.
The CTA is intended for the operational management of the railway telecommunications infrastructure and constitutes an indispensable enclave for the development of the work of both Adif and the railway operators. The telecommunications network has experienced significant growth in recent years, which will continue to increase with the liberalization of the railway sector, which is why a new distribution of equipment and a modernization of it are necessary.
In this context, the reform of the CTA building will be carried out, which will consist of the comprehensive remodeling of the three floors in use and the conditioning of a plant more unused until now, at the same time as it will proceed with the exterior reorganization and actions on facades and roof skylights.
On the other hand, the existing telecommunications facilities or those with connections in the building are going to be adapted and relocated, with the aim of making the most of the entire building, distributing and grouping the available spaces in rooms related to each technology or work group. for more efficient management.
