Sri Lanka : Sri Lanka seeks bids for 150 MW solar power project
Publish Date : 17-Mar-2020
Sri Lankas largest electricity provider, The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), seeks tenders for 150 MW of solar power.
These projects forms part of the third phase of the Soorya Bala Sangramaya (Battle for Solar Energy) program. The country expects this scheme to add 200 MW of solar by the end of this year and 1 GW by the end of 2025.
The tenders are for 20 solar power projects ranging in size from 3 MW to 10 MW. Development of these facilities will take place at different locations, each of them to be connected to different grid substations.
According to the utility, the ceiling price for the tender is LKR 15.60 ($0.086)/kWh, and 80% of the proposed tariff will be re-adjusted depending upon fluctuations in the US dollar exchange rate.
For proposal submission, interested developers have time until May 21.
