ARMENIA: EBRD grants €6.5 million loan to Armenian Municipalities

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has lenat €6.5 million sovereign loan to the Republic of Armenia to improve water supply and wastewater services in 17 municipalities across Armen.
State-owned Armenian Water and Sewerage Company (AWSC) will further receive up to €2 million technical cooperation grants from several donors. The Canadian Government is one the major contributor of grant which is worth €200,000 to assist AWSC in preparing an investment programme.
AWSC will use this fund for commercialisation and organisational improvements as well as to support the implementation of the investment programme.
