UNITED STATES : ZBB to Provide Energy Storage for US Navy Micro-Grid Project

ZBB Energy Corp. has been awarded a U.S. Navy contract for providing an energy storage system to be used in a micro-grid appliance at the San Nicolas Island Naval Facility, situated in the Catalina Island group, west of Los Angeles.
According to the company, the contract awarded by the U.S. Navy Fleet and Industrial Supply Center in San Diego carries value of over $1 million. ZBB Energy is to provide a 1000 kilowatt-hour / 500 kilowatt-rated energy storage system as well as supply other related services.
ZBB\'s technology of power management and zinc-bromide battery will be verified and certified during the following two years, for maintaining power quality and to perform load management for off peak generated power of the wind turbines.
