UNITED KINGDOM : German air force contracted Survitec for aircrew survival garments

The German air force has contracted Britain\'s Survitec Group to provide aircrew ensemble that protect against cold water immersion, thermal insulation and fire/flame exposure.The contract has been awarded by BWB, the procurement agency for the German Air Force.The multi million-dollar contract is for around 2000 systems, will be delivered over a 3 year period with the first systems being delivered by the end of this year.
Survitec\'s aircrew ensemble system provides an integrated approach and including functional underwear, a thermal protection garment and immersion suit. The suits will be supplied and manufactured by Survitec through DSB and will be supported by German subcontracting partners.
DSB is part of the Survitec Group, has headquarters near Hanover, Germany, and is a leading company in the development, processing and manufacturing of rubberized fabrics with marine, defense and aerospace applications.
