ISRAEL : Israel Airports Authority issues tender for foreign exchange services
Publish Date : 19-Aug-2011
The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has issued a tender for foreign exchange services at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport Terminal 3. The concessions (covering two units) will run for six years, with the option to extend this by a further 24 months.
The IAA said it was seeking respondents in two categories – banks and non-banking organisations that have licences to operate foreign exchange services and will select a preferred bidder from each category. Currently there are two operators providing foreign currency exchange services at Ben Gurion Airport, Change Place Ltd and Hapoalim Bank Ltd. They have both been operating since November 2004 and their contracts run to November 2011.
IAA said it plans to appoint two operators to operate from the two existing service points in the terminal. The bidding date is due on or before 14 September.
