UNITED STATES : Nexterra secures $6.9 Million order to supply biomass gasification system

Nexterra Systems Corp., a supplier of biomass gasification solutions declared that it has secured a contract worth $6.9 million to supply a biomass gasification system for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centre in Battle Creek, Michigan.
As per the privately owned Vancouver concern, the state of the art system will offer clean, carbon-neutral heat and power to the medical centre. The total cost of the project is $18 million that will be provided in partnership with DeMaria Building Co. and HGA Architects.
Nexterra stated that shifting from fossil fuel to biomass supports the VA\'s aims of achieving a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2020 and producing around 7.5% of electricity from renewable sources.
Jonathan Rhone, President and CEO of Nexterra said that this project is a significant commercial milestone for Nexterra as we expand into the health-care market.
