KOREA, REPUBLIC OF : Doosan Gets $80 Million Plant Order From Saudi Arabia

South Korea\'s leading power equipment producer, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Company has secured a US$80 million deal to build a seawater desalination plant in western Saudi Arabia.
A Saudi Arabian state run company, Marafiq has awarded the contract. The deal is for developing a seawater desalination facility in western Saudi Arabia.
According to the contract, Doosan will be developing the multi effect desalination plant in Yanbu, located around 350 kilometers northwest of Jeddah. Doosan expects the work on the plant to conclude in March 2014, and upon completion, it will daily produce 54,000t of fresh water.
