INDIA : BGR Energy bagged Contract worth Rs 3600 crore from NTPC

Chennai-based BGR Energy Systems has been awarded contract worth Rs3,600 crore from National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). The contract is for supplying four or five units of super critical steam turbine generators, of the nine turbines, which is required by the state-owned NTPC at its four different sites.
According to BGR Energy, four major electrical equipment manufacturers, like BHEL, L&T-Mitsubishi, Bharat Forge-Alstom and Toshiba had submitted its proposals for the contract. BGR Energy was the lowest bidder for all nine units of super-critical steam turbine generators.
