OMAN : Strabag Oman won $210.3 million construction deal

Strabag Oman received $210.3 million deal from Ministry of Transport and Communications. As per this deal, Strabag Oman will construct access roads to Duqm port and dry dock, and to divert some of wadis.
According to Said bin Hamdoon Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs at Ministry of Transport and Communications, Strabag Oman will be responsible to build over 30km of road, work related to divert wadis and related infrastructure development.
Besides Strabag Oman, Consolidated Contracting, Galfar Engineering & Contracting and National United Engineering Constructing, had submitted a number of bids with different options.
This $2.6 billion Duqm port is likely to be operational by mid-2012. The majority of tenders have already been offered to a number of contracting companies, and are under different stages of implementation.
