UNITED STATES : G.E. Energy bags $3 billion worth of energy tech orders

The energy unit of General Electric Company has won contracts for products ranging from power generation systems to smart grids from Brazil, Egypt, Ecuador and other countries valued at around $3 billion.

GE Vice Chairman John Krenicki said, “Energy technologies from exploration to power generation are in high demand by our customers, particularly in emerging markets.”

The deals comprises of $800 million for wind and natural gas turbines in Brazil; deal worth $300 million for natural gas turbines and services at two power units in Cairo; $230 million contract for oil and natural gas drilling and production equipment with Brazil-based OGX Petroleo e Gas; and contract worth $40 million for supplying pumps and engines for BP\'s oil operation in Iraq.

The company has even declared receiving number of other contracts in Indonesia, Italy, Ecuador, Canada and Australia, but did not reveal the value of those contracts.

These contracts are for supply of technological assistance for a liquefied natural gas platform which is a part of Royal Dutch Shell\'s Prelude project off the coast of western Australia.

In order to promote energy and water efficiency at its China plants, GE has also revealed signing new partnership with Anheuser-Busch InBev. GE will also work on natural gas power projects in Iraq, Italy and Indonesia.
