INDIA : Sterlite Wins Rs 114 Crore BSNL Deal

Sterlite Technologies, the popular telecom and power transmission solution providers, has apparently received a project from BSNL, which estimates worth Rs 114 crore. The project is expected to establish a broadband network.
As per this deal, Sterlite Technologies will install a central office broadband system across BSNL\'s all circles. It will deploy and commission the system by March 2013 and also administer the network for subsequent 7-year. When this system gets finished, it can manage nearly 1.6 million broadband connections.
Rahul Sharma, Head of System Integration Business at Sterlite Technologies, said, “Sterlite has developed the capability to provide comprehensive solutions for the telecom and broadband sectors. We remain committed to facilitating the propagation of broadband in India.”
