UNITED STATES : Webcor won $34M project at Camp Roberts

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded San Francisco-based Webcor a $34.8 million contract to build a new satellite communication facility at Camp Roberts, near Paso Robles.
The project, a joint venture between Webcor and Watts Constructors, will expand and improve existing facilities at the California Army National Guard training post for the U.S. Army’s Network Enterprise Technologies Command.
The new Satellite Earth Terminal Station Facility will include a 43,000 square foot satellite communications operations center, a 6,900 square foot command/administration support center, and a 5,700 square foot repair and utilities building.
Webcor Builders will also be responsible for fire protection/detection systems, connections to on-site power generation system and energy supervision and control system, and deployment of an intrusion detection system. Related site work covers utilities, paved parking, sidewalks, curb, gutters, storm drainage, landscaping, exterior lighting, access roads, retaining walls and site development.
The work on this project is scheduled to begin in fall and likely to be completed by fall 2013.
