Publish Date : 27-Sep-2011
UTE Termosolar Borges (Barcelona, Spain) awarded a contract for the supply and construction of a solar field, comprising mirrors and secures, for a 22.5 MW concentrating solar power (CSP) plant in Catalonia, Spain.
The company has delivered high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology for the construction of a transmission line to bring electricity from renewable energy generation from the Spanish mainland to the island of Mallorca.
Siemens Energy announced, “Les Borges Blanques plant is a unique project, with a steam turbine that is driven by steam produced either by sunlight or/and by firing biomass. Siemens will provide all of the solar technology. Together with the 50 MW Arenales project announced earlier this month, and the 50 MW Olivenza project announced in July, Siemens Energy is now constructing 122.5 MW of parabolic trough solar fields.”
