UNITED STATES : Danner secures $15.4 million contract from US Marine Corps.

Danner, US based manufacturer of boots, obtained $15.4 million contract from US Marine Corps. LaCrosse Footwear Inc., parent company of Danner.

As per this contract, Danner will offer its USMC Rugged All-Terrain hot weather boot.The boot would be made in the Portland plant. The company also said it anticipates fulfilling this order over the next several quarters.

Joseph P. Schneider, CEO of LaCrosse Footwear, said, \"We continue to focus on combining our knowledge of what armed forces need in harsh climates and tough terrain with our world-class product engineering and manufacturing capabilities in order to create premier boots for the United States military. (Marine boot) has been used in the mountains of Afghanistan since 2007 and remains the proven leader in its category. We\'re very proud to be working with the United States Marine Corps and do our part to support the men and women who serve our country.\"

Danner\'s boot are built with full-grain leather and tear resistant 1000 Denier nylon. It has a Vibram-brand sole and a moisture wicking lining with quick-draining vent holes.
