UNITED STATES : Metro approves $153M deal for light-rail car

Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) obtained $153 million deal from Houston\'s Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
As per this new deal, CAF will be responsible to offer 39 light rail transit (LRT) vehicles to Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
George Greanias, CEO of Metropolitan Transportation Authority, said, \"We are very pleased the FTA has placed its confidence in Metro and our revised procurement procedures. This is a huge undertaking and will benefit those who are producing the cars here in the U.S. as well as the citizens of Houston, who will have first-class, state-of-the-art trains.\"
