BRAZIL,FRANCE : Alstom won 116MW deal from Odebrecht

Publish Date : 04-Oct-2011

Alstom, France based leading global energy solutions, power transmission technologies & transport company, obtained 116MW a deal from construction giant Odebrecht, which was a successful bidder in Brazil’s energy tender.

As per this deal, Alstom will offer four wind farms with a combined capacity of 116MW. Under its bid, Alstom submitted alstom ECO 86 turbine, which predicts the construction of Corredor do Senades 2, 3 and 4, and Vento Argano 1 wind farms in Rio Grande do Sul state. The project is expected to commission in July 2014.

Faubel said, “Odebrecht is a good Brazilian partner of Alstom, and for us it was a natural move to enhance our offering to them with wind.”

According to Faubel, even if Alstom was active in last auction regardless of lower prices, the company won\'t pursue business opportunities in Brazil at any price or cost.

Faubel said, “There is a general consensus that it is a very low price. So is there price pressure? Yes. But is there also price pressure in the rest of the world? Absolutely yes.”
