INDONESIA : Thiess secures $500 million contract extension in Indonesia

Thiess Pty Ltd, subsidiary of Leighton Holdings Limited has signed an extension contract worth $500 million in Indonesia.
Under the contract, the existing contract will be extended by three years, for the further development and operation of two Indonesian coal mines.
The extension aims a production target of 5 million tonnes of coal per annum and will be operation at the beginning of 2012.
Thiess stated that it has an annual turnover of $7 billion and $22 billion work in hand.
