A consortium of three international companies will carry out the largest sewage treatment project in Bahrain at a cost of BD250 million.
Operations for the Busaiteen project in Muharraq Governorate will begin by the last of 2011 and will be finished in three years, as per Works Ministry Under-Secretary Khalifa Al Mansoor.
The project, part of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, involves deep tunnels with 47 inspection rooms.
The tunnels will stretch beneath four areas and join at the chief station in Hidd industrial city.
The firms will utilize sophisticated methods for preventing traffic problems and lessening the effect on the environment, the Minister stated.
