China,Togo : 4 loan agreements signed by China and Togo

Under the economic cooperation framework between the two countries the Togo and China have signed four loan agreements.

Previous year the agreements were signed by the new Chinese ambassador in Togo, Liu Yuci, and the Togolese minister of Economy and Finance, Adji Othčth Ayassor. The loans are intended to finance various road and energy projects mainly.

The first agreement, a grant of 180 million Yuan (14.126 billion CFAF) and the second, estimated at 50 million Yuan (3.924 billion CFA), are to finance economic and technical projects agreed by the two countries.

The third, a soft loan granted by the Chinese import-export bank for 628 million Yuan (49.282 billion CFAF) is to execute the renovation and asphalting of a road in the capital, Lomé, which is in its second stage.

The fourth is a soft loan of 210 million Yuan, or 16.480 billion CFAF, given by the same bank, within the framework of the implementation of the project to strengthen and extend the electricity distribution network.

China and Togo have been developing economic and technical cooperation for decades, marked by numerous successes in several socio-economic, cultural and military domains.
