India : VIJAYA BANK launched IT-enabled services with unique mobile app

Vijaya Bank, the mid-sized public sector bank of India, has acknowledged the major role of Information Technology to facilitate boost the banking experience of its clients.

Following the dedication to offer topnotch services to the customers, the 83-year old lender has introduced IT-based services for them. The bank has joined the first list of banks that has accomplished full execution of CBS, installation of huge-number of ATMs, initiation of net as well as mobile banking, and SMS alerts related to transactions.

Vijaya Bank has celebrated its 83rd Anniversary via rolling out an innovative mobile application V-ePassBook+ for its customers. The application facilitates customers carry their passbook details on their mobile phones.

The newly launched service has facilitated creation of several facilities for its customers, which include maintaining the passbook details of numerous accounts, adding personal messages on every new entry on the passbook, maintaining personal accounts and marking transactions of passbook to it, plus recording transactions taking place in these personal accounts outside the bank, a tiny-version of the bank’s website connected to the main site along with inbox facility to get vital messages from the bank with links to find details from the website of the bank.

The customers will be able to enjoy additional facilities, comprising making requests, search of complaints for any transaction for the specified period chosen by the user, and sharing of account details like number, IFSC code of branch with others via email/SMS to allow inward remittances and exchanging the banking experience with near and dear ones through email and SMS.

The users of Apple and Android devices will be able to download the application, while the bank will soon introduce the Windows version of the application.

Customers will get a One Time Password (OTP) once they install the application on their mobile handsets registered with the bank for SMS alerts related to transaction. First they will have to enter the OTP and then the PIN to utilize the application for multiple purposes.
