Balfour Beatty JV Gammon Engineering & Construction Company Limited is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a building contract for a residential development in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong.

Developed by Wheelock Properties, the project includes the construction of residential towers on top of a commercial podium which comprises retail areas, a basement carpark and a clubhouse. The development will provide about 600 residential flats for Hong Kong.

Thomas Ho, Chief Executive of Gammon, said, "We are delighted that Wheelock Properties has selected Gammon as its construction partner for this residential project. We are committed to working together with our business partners to ensure the delivery of the residential development to the highest quality with excellent standards of safety."

The project team will embrace principles of sustainability and environmental management by taking a set of comprehensive measures starting from the selection of the construction materials and throughout the construction process. It is committed to complying with the Beam Plus standards.

Work on the project has started in January 2014 year and it will create 800 jobs in Hong Kong.
